I live in Washington state, in the beautiful Pacific Northwest (where it does not rain as much as you think... but shhh!
We don't want to give away any secrets...).
My interest in photography began with my parents' first point-and-shoot digital camera which I "adopted" when I was 16.
Since then I've honed my skills (and upgraded my equipment!) and become a photojournalist for my own life and everyone else that I know. I'm primarily a landscape and nature photographer, but I also enjoy photographing people and anything else that catches my eye. I seldom leave the house without my camera!
I've been told that I have a "great eye" (okay, I admit, my mom says that, but there are other people who have said the same thing who weren't friends or relatives!), and I love to show people different and creative perspectives of a subject and make them see it in a whole new light.
My love of the outdoors began with my parents, and the many family daytrips and vacations we went on (and are still going on!) to the amazing places in the Pacific Northwest and beyond. Mountains, beaches, waterfalls, fields of flowers, forests--
I love them all and savor the experience of exploring and sometimes just simply taking in God's wonderful creation.
It's not just about the photograph for me-- it's also about the experience of "being there", and I hope when you view my photos you get the same feeling I had when I was there in the moment.
"This is my Father’s world, and to my listening ears
All nature sings, and round me rings the music of the spheres.
This is my Father’s world: I rest me in the thought
Of rocks and trees, of skies and seas;
His hand the wonders wrought."
